ABOUT ME
Melinda is currently working as a public school music teacher and freelance orchestral Violist in the East San Francisco Bay Area. As an employee of the Vacaville Unified School District, she teaches beginning strings to fifth and sixth graders at five elementary schools, is the Orchestra Director at Vacaville High School (VHS). Melinda is also chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at VHS and is actively involved in campus life.
Outside of her teaching commitments, Melinda is an active performer. As a freelance violist, she has played with the Solano Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Napa Valley, Symphony Orchestra of Northern California, and Missouri Street Theater (MST) company. After joining MST as the pit orchestra violist, Melinda because the resident conductor in 2019 and conducts musicals and benefit concerts. Melinda also volunteers with two arts non-profit organizations. Melinda also plays tenor saxophone with Solano Winds community band and is in their sax ensemble.
As an advocate for the arts and arts education, Melinda serves on the boards of two non-profit organizations. She is currently the Director of Education for the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America and is the President of the Solano Symphony Orchestra.

Melinda is available for work as a music teacher, a cappella clinician and director, vocal percussionist and conductor. She teaches violin, viola, vocal percussion, and woodwinds. Melinda also has strong musical theater, orchestral, wind band, and choral conducting technique as well as vocal percussion skills.
